A 10-year-old girl killed in a car crash in Mountain Brook on Saturday was identified as Annabelle Mullican, daughter of Kathleen Mullican of Mountain Brook, AL.
According to the Mountain Brook Police Department, the crash occurred in the vicinity of the Mountain Brook Club.
Annabelle Mullican, the girl who has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner, was transported to the hospital; however, tragically, she was later declared deceased.
According to police reports, an officer reportedly observed a white SUV traveling at a significantly high velocity on Old Leeds Road. Upon the SUV’s entrance onto Cherokee Road, the officer promptly activated the emergency lights and siren on their clearly identifiable patrol vehicle, signaling an intention to initiate a traffic stop.
According to police, an SUV was observed traveling at a high rate of speed. During the pursuit, an occupant of the vehicle reportedly discarded two items through the driver’s side window. Shortly after, at around 5:26 p.m., the SUV collided in the 3400 block of Cherokee Road.
According to police, both an adult woman and a juvenile girl sustained injuries and were subsequently taken to the hospital.
