Edward Gray Obituary, Death – After a protracted battle with illness, Edward Michael Gray, who had lived in Half Moon Bay, California for a significant amount of time, passed away on November 25, 2023. Marilyn and Harold Schwartz welcomed their son Edward, also known as “Eddy,” into the world in Greenwich, Connecticut. Ed was just two months old when his father, Harold, passed away unexpectedly.

As a result, his mother remarried Robert Gray, and Ed became a member of a big mixed family. He spent his boyhood in West Orange, New Jersey, attending the Pingry school from PreK through the 12th grade. Ed was a well-liked person on campus and served as the President of the Dartmouth Marching Band. He graduated from Dartmouth in 1988 and was a member of the group.

In 1993, while Ed was attending Stanford Business School, he joined forces with his classmates to form a band called the Model Citizens. Ed, who was already an amazing musician, went on to sing in the band. Over the course of over thirty years, Edward was employed at Avid Technologies, which was then known as Digidesign. During that time, he established long-lasting friendships within the audio recording industry.

While Ed’s sickness, which was caused by Gaucher’s disease and diabetes, continued to worsen and cause him to lose his vision, he worked relentlessly to set accessibility standards for the music and recording industry. His son Harrison “Max,” his wife Kathryn, his older brothers Kenneth and Barry Schwartz, his sisters Bonnie Hurwitz and Vicky Gray, and his uncle David Kiener are among those who are left behind after his passing. He was married to Kathryn for twenty-eight years. He is a cherished cousin to Jessica Kiener Brandt, as well as an uncle to Staci Hurwitz, Glennie Kramer-Baker, Erin Kramer, and Johannes Kramer, in addition to a large number of nieces and nephews from Kathryn’s side of the family.
