Regena Shough Obituary, Death –On December 15, 2023, Stuart lost a beloved member of its community, Mrs. Regena Micheline Shough, at the age of 72. Born on May 28, 1951, in Patrick County to the late James Roosevelt Odell and Carlene Holt Justice, Regena leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and love. Regena dedicated 36 years of her life to Patrick County Social Services, where she tirelessly worked to support and uplift her community.

Her commitment to service extended beyond her professional life, as she actively participated in various capacities at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church. Serving as the church treasurer for 20 years, directing the children’s bell choir, assisting in Vacation Bible School (VBS), and engaging in numerous other activities, Regena’s impact on her church family was immeasurable.

A kind and generous soul, Regena found joy in helping others, exemplified by her volunteer work with Mountain Valley Hospice. Her spirit of generosity, love, and community involvement extended to her personal life, where she cherished moments spent with friends and family. Regena had a passion for shopping, crafts, and card making, using her creativity to bring joy to those around her.

Regena is survived by her loving husband, James Shough, her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Todd Burton, and her two grandchildren, Anna and Noah Burton. Additionally, she is survived by her brothers, Jimmy Odell, Ken Justice, and sister-in-law Marcella Odell, along with several nieces and nephews. A graveside service to celebrate Regena’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Patrick Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Jim Churchwell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.
