Transformers: Age Of Extinction Toy Concept Art Features Optimus Prime

With Transformers: Age of Extinction about eight months away, the film’s production has moved from Chicago to Hong Kong. It’s only a matter of time before we start seeing new images from the film, but for now we have concept art from Hasbro that gives us an idea what the Autobots will look like in the latest Transformers movie. We’ve already seen some of the robots in disguise in car form, and now we’re getting a better look at the Autobots as robots.
The images below from tfw2005.com are the licensing artwork for the new-and-improved Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Grimlock, the T-Rex member of the Dinobots. The new images also showoff Optimus Prime in action as a robot with a new look, new weapons, and a shield. The new Optimus looks like he definitely got a new coat of paint when compared to how he looked in the first Transformers trilogy. It’s going to be interesting to see how the filmmakers behind Age of Extinction will explain why the Autobots and Decepticons got a makeover. Optimus Prime almost looks closer to how he appeared in the original animated series, with a Japanese influenced look.
Here’s Optimus Prime in Dark of the Moon.
Meanwhile, leaked footage from Hong Kong shows extras running for their lives down a busy street. In the background, you can audibly hear a dinosaur’s mighty roar. Could this be the terrifying sounds of Grimlock or another Dinobot featured in the new movie?
As for Transformers: Age of Extinction, Michael Bay seems to be doing fine after his melee with an attacker on location during production. Bay defended the cast and crew of the film from an assailant wielding an air conditioning unit. It’s unclear why Bay was attacked while he was working, but it is believed that he was the target for a kidnapping with a ransom of $100,000 HK ($12,900 US). Three men were arrested, and it was reported that his attacker might have been under the influence of narcotics.
There are no plot details available for Transformers: Age of Extinction at the moment, but Michael Bay has described the film as a “chase from hell.”. It is rumored that Megatron might return in spite of being killed off by off Optimus Prime.
Since the film is most likely close to wrapping production, we should be seeing a teaser trailer soon. Word is that it will be attached to screenings of Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, which was recently pushed from Christmas 2013 to January 2014. Both films are from Paramount Pictures and are Lorenzo di Bonaventura productions.
Transformers: Age of Extinction features actors Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Brenton Thwaites, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Sophia Myles, T.J. Miller, Victoria Summer, and Kelsey Grammer as CIA Agent Harold Attinger. Peter Cullen will reprise his role as the voice of Optimus Prime.
Transformers: Age of Extinction will hit theaters everywhere on June 27, 2014, in 3D and IMAX.
