Tegan Joshua Anthony Chambers, also known as Sleepy Hallow, is an American rapper specializing in Brooklyn drill music. Chambers, originally from Jamaica, grew up in New York City’s Flatbush neighborhood with regular collaborator Sheff G.

With “Flows,” featuring Sheff G, he earned his first viral hit in 2018. His single “Deep End Freestyle” featuring Fousheé was certified platinum by the RIAA in August 2020. In August 2021, his single “2055” peaked at number 51 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, becoming his highest-charting song.

In recent news, famed Brooklyn drill rapper Sleepy Hallow, real name Tegan Chambers, has become embroiled in legal wranglings, resulting in his arrest and subsequent jail.

Sleepy Hallow and fellow rapper Sheff G were arrested during a Brooklyn gang bust on May 16, 2023. The NYPD conducted the arrest, and Sleepy Hallow is facing conspiracy charges. 

Eric Gonzalez, the Brooklyn District Attorney, revealed that Sheff G reportedly utilized some money he made from his songs to aid in illegal activity.

Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G were among 32 people charged with murder conspiracy. These allegations stem from a series of shootings that occurred throughout many instances. The specifics of Sleepy Hallow’s claimed participation in the conspiracy have not been revealed.

It’s worth noting that Sleepy Hallow has a history of running afoul of the law. 

Sleepy Hallow was released from prison in February 2023 after serving an eight-month sentence for weapons possession. This previous legal matter is distinct from the current ones he faces.

Sleepy Hallow is still detained as of this writing, awaiting the next court hearing on August 9. There is the option of being released on bond pending a judge’s judgment.

The City Jail is a privately owned correctional facility at One Thorobred Lane in Kane County, Illinois. For a maximum of 62 hours, Sleepy Hollow City Prison can House up to 24 male and eight female pretrial offenders facing misdemeanor and felony charges.

The Sleepy Hollow City Prison permits arrestees to “work off” their time by court orders. G4S Secure Solutions provides workers to the Sleepy Hollow City Jail, who report to the Administrative Lieutenant of the Sleepy Hollow Police Department. 

The Illinois Standard and Corrections STC-certified Correctional Officer Academy will provide prior training. They also receive 37 hours of continuing training every two years.

Sleepy Hollow Early Life Explored

Sleepy Hollow was born in Jamaica on December 20, 1999, and reared in the American neighborhood of Flatbush, part of Brooklyn.

Chambers moved from Jamaica to the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, as a child. He began rapping around the age of 12. He then used the rap name “Sleepy Hallow” because it was his street name. Chambers dropped out of high school in his ninth year.
